What is the Cincinnati Squash Academy?
• CSA is a FREE after-school program for 4th through 12th graders.
• CSA combines academic tutoring, instruction in the sport of squash, postsecondary & college preparation, community service, and leadership opportunities.
• Programming runs throughout the year, including summer activities.
Why should your child join the Squash Academy?
• CSA staff and volunteers help students with homework and curriculum enrichment, so that they can do well in school.
• CSA participants learn the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle by participating in an intensive sports program.
• CSA students have the opportunity to travel across the country (e.g. New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago) for squash tournaments or other events.
• CSA provides a nutritious snack each day a student attends.
• CSA exposes students to a wide range of new experiences and helps each child reach his or her potential.
What is the commitment?
• Students come three days per week directly after school for 2+ hours of training.
• Students are making a long-term commitment to CSA. Once enrolled, they are expected to participate in the program through high school graduation.
• Attendance is a priority! We ask for a phone call, email, or text if a student cannot make practice.
Who is eligible to join the team?
Students in grades 4-7 who meet two out of the five criteria are eligible to try out for the team:
A) Qualify for government assistance (example: Free Lunch Program)
B) First-generation upon entering college
C) Racial/ethnic minority
D) Come from a single-parent household
E) English is not the primary language spoken at home
